Yearly Horoscope

2020 Overview

It's been a long time coming, Taurus.

Since Uranus entered your sign back in 2018, you've been feeling like a brand-new person. But in many ways, you're still living the same old life. How much longer will you have to wait for real change to happen?

With your ruler Venus in assertive Aries from February 7-March 4, it's time to take matters into your own hands! Just be aware of any potential risks, and be sure it's really your heart's desire before going all in. Venus comes home to your sign on March 4 and conjoins Uranus there on the eighth, reminding you that loving yourself means being yourself—no matter what anyone else thinks.

Venus spends an unusually long time in Gemini in this year (April 3-August 7), and her retrograde in that sign (May 13-June 24) gives you an opportunity to reflect on what you love, value, and desire most in life. Don't be surprised if some of those things have changed!

Face it, Taurus, you're evolving. And this year, the effects are rippling out into all areas of your life. It's exciting, but can also be disorienting—for you and everyone else.

Both inner and outer conflicts arise in the second half of the year, especially while Mars is retrograde in Aries (September 9-November 13). With Mercury in the opposite sign of Libra, it's tempting to bottle up anger and stress to keep the peace. But you're much better off channeling them into positive action and creative compromise.

This energy is likely to play out in family dynamics—especially with your siblings, cousins, or in-laws. With two eclipses in Cancer (lunar January 10, solar June 20) and two major conjunctions in Capricorn (Saturn/Pluto January 12; Jupiter/Pluto April 4, June 29, and November 12), these relationships are up for a massive overhaul in 2020.

Family ties may be forever, Taurus, but they shouldn't tie you down. As you continue to evolve, your family will be challenged to evolve too—whether they like it or not!

2020 Love & Romance

Loving yourself is a radical act, Taurus. And with Uranus in your sign, you've joined the revolution!

As a result, looking for love outside yourself isn't as alluring in 2020. Still, anything can happen—especially in March, when Venus transits your sign and hooks up with Uranus on the eighth. With your unusual appeal, you may attract some unlikely admirers… or be drawn to quirky, offbeat characters like a moth to a flame. Just make sure you're not rebelling against your own best interests by getting involved.

Even if you're in a relationship, this year personal growth takes top priority. And you're likely to encounter some resistance from your partner or get frustrated when they don't seem to be evolving as quickly as you. Try to be patient with them, Taurus—after all, you know how much you hate being prodded and pushed.

Still, it's important to honor your journey and keep moving forward at your own pace. This may cause tension between you and your partner at times, but in the long run it's probably the best thing you can do for the relationship. (Of course, sometimes people do outgrow each other—but don't let that fear hold you back.)

The important thing is to keep the lines of communication open: Mercury spends most of the fall in your opposite sign of Scorpio (including some of his retrograde period, October 13-November 3), and Venus is in Scorpio from November 21-December 15. Talking about issues such as jealousy, possessiveness, sex, money, or power dynamics can feel like opening up Pandora's box. But it's also your best hope for a happy future together.

Just be mindful that, with the south node in Sagittarius (starting May 5), it may be harder to keep an open mind. Instead of going into these conversations with preconceived notions of who's “right” and who's “wrong,” try approaching them with curiosity.

After all, as this year's Jupiter/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn (April 4, June 29, and November 12) proves, these aren't minor issues you're dealing with here—they're some of life's biggest, deepest questions.

2020 Finance & Career

Get ready, Taurus: 2020 is going to be a game-changer.

With Uranus in your sign, all bets are off and everything's on the table—especially in your career. But as out-of-control as it may feel, the truth is you're the one calling the shots.

Mercury spends much of this year's first quarter in forward-focused Aquarius, inspiring innovation in your professional life, and his retrograde period from February 16-March 9 finds you reevaluating past successes in light of shifting realities. The old goals no longer motivate you, so it's time to dream up some new ones! To achieve them, though, you'll have to break ranks and forge new alliances.

Saturn's first visit to Aquarius (March 21-July 1) gives you a foreshadowing of the discipline, endurance, and hard work that will be required to rebuild your empire. There may even a few old messes to clean up, during Saturn's retrograde in Aquarius and Capricorn (May 10-September 28). Taking care of these now will spare you a lot of headaches later.

It's also important not to burn any bridges in your current work situation. As eager as you are to move forward, you'll probably be there a while longer—and staying on friendly terms makes that a lot easier!

“Easy-breezy” is a quality to cultivate this year, as the north node moves into Gemini on May 5. Venus also spends four months in the sign (April 3-August 7, retrograde May 12-June 24), reminding you of the beauty and value of what you bring to the marketplace. Knowing your worth allows you to be adaptable, while holding out for what you truly desire and deserve.

Saturn reenters Aquarius on December 16, and Jupiter meets up with him on December 21 for their long-awaited Great Conjunction. As a major new cycle begins, your vision for the future is clear—and more than ever, Taurus, it's a very real possibility!
